How to Throw a Yacht Party in Dubai: Boat, Timing, Food and Music

A good yacht party in Dubai comes down to four decisions: a boat licensed for your whole group, three to four hours that start before sunset, food and drinks sorted in advance, and a playlist. Get those right and the rest — the skyline, the Palm, the Burj Al Arab lit up on the way back — takes care of itself. Here is how to plan it, with real boats and prices from the 141 yachts on Aceplace in October 2026.
1. Pick the boat by headcount
Start with the number of guests, not the look of the yacht. The capacity on every yacht page is a licensed limit: the crew cannot take even one extra person, and children count too. So count everyone, add anyone who might bring a plus-one, and search for that number.
Then leave some room. A 20-guest yacht with 20 people on board is full; with 14 it feels like a party with space to dance. As a rough guide:
- Up to 12 guests — a 40–46 ft yacht. Enough for a birthday dinner or drinks with close friends.
- 15–25 guests — 55–65 ft. The most common party size, and the biggest choice of boats.
- 30–50 guests — 70–100 ft, or a catamaran, which gives a wide, flat deck for its length.
- 50 and more — 90 ft and up. Fewer boats, so book early.
For what each size costs, see yacht party prices by group size. In short: a three-hour party for up to 20 usually costs AED 2,550–3,150 for the whole boat.
2. Check the things that make it a party
Almost every boat has a Bluetooth sound system, air conditioning inside, a toilet, a fridge, and water, soft drinks and ice included. What differs from boat to boat — and is worth filtering for:
- A bar — 46 boats have one. It makes serving drinks to 25 people much easier than a fridge in the galley.
- A sundeck — the upper deck where people end up dancing. Most yachts over 50 ft have one.
- A BBQ grill — on 60 boats. Ask us how the grill works on the boat you choose and what you can bring for it.
- A jacuzzi — on 23, mostly larger yachts.
A few boats with a bar that you can book with instant confirmation:
- Fly, 56 ft, up to 21 guests, Dubai Harbour — bar, sundeck, AED 1,000/hour, 3-hour minimum.
- Amotea, 72 ft, up to 30 guests, Dubai Harbour — bar, sundeck, AED 1,300/hour, 3-hour minimum.
- Explora, a 60 ft catamaran for up to 40 guests, Dubai Harbour — bar, sundeck, AED 1,600/hour.
- Omega 100, 100 ft, up to 50 guests, Dubai Marina Yacht Club — bar, BBQ grill, AED 1,650/hour, 2-hour minimum.
- Poco Loco, 90 ft, up to 75 guests, Dubai Islands — bar, BBQ grill, oven and cooker, AED 2,500/hour, 3-hour minimum.
3. Choose the time
Season. October to April is the comfortable time to be on deck all evening. In summer, parties still happen — boats are air-conditioned inside — but plan around the late afternoon and evening, not midday.
Time of day. Start about an hour and a half before sunset (around 5:30 pm in winter, 7:15 pm in summer). You get daylight for photos and a swim if the captain allows it, the sunset itself, then the skyline lit up on the way back. Swimming is only possible in daylight, so if a swim is part of the plan, don't start after dark.
Length. Three hours is the sweet spot and the minimum on most boats — 83 of the 141 on Aceplace (35 allow two). Four hours gives time to anchor, eat and not rush. Book the longer option upfront: extending on the day only works if the boat has no booking after yours.
Weekday or weekend. Hourly prices are usually the same, but Friday and Saturday evenings go first. A weekday evening gives you far more boats to choose from.
4. Plan the route
Most party yachts leave from Dubai Harbour or Dubai Marina, and a three-hour cruise covers the classic loop: the Marina and JBR towers, Ain Dubai on Bluewaters, along the Palm to Atlantis and on to the Burj Al Arab, with a stop to anchor and swim if the sea and the captain allow. The captain decides the exact route on the day based on the weather. For timings and options, see yacht routes in Dubai.
5. Sort out food and drinks
This is where parties go wrong, so decide it when you book, not on the day.
- Catering. We can add catering — from platters and finger food to a full menu — delivered and set up on board.
- Bringing your own. Whether you can bring your own food, drinks and alcohol depends on the yacht. Tell us your plan when you book and we'll confirm it with the owner, so there are no surprises at the marina.
- Quantities. Heat makes people drink more water than you expect. Water and soft drinks are included on almost every boat, but on a full boat for four hours it's worth asking for extra.
6. Music, decorations and photos
- Music. Make a playlist and download it — mobile signal can drop out at sea. The sound system connects over Bluetooth.
- Decorations. Balloons, flowers, banners and a table setup can be arranged before you board, so you don't spend the first half hour inflating balloons.
- Photos. Golden hour on the water is the best light you'll get all day. A photographer or videographer means someone other than the host is holding the phone.
7. Tell your guests the rules
Send this with the invitation and you'll avoid the usual problems at the marina:
- Everyone needs an original ID — a passport or Emirates ID, children included. A guest without ID may not be allowed on board.
- Arrive 15–30 minutes early. Parking and the gate take time, and the charter starts at the booked time even if someone is late.
- Shoes come off on most yachts. Flip-flops are the easy choice; leave heels at home.
- The captain is in charge of safety. Life jackets are on board, and the captain can end the trip early if someone puts others at risk.
8. Pay together
Nobody has to front the whole amount. With bill splitting, you pay your share at booking and send a link to friends; everyone sees the booking and who has already paid.
If plans change, most yachts on Aceplace cancel for free more than 72 hours before the trip, with the refund getting smaller after that. Each yacht page shows its policy before you pay.
Questions people ask
Can we have a party on a yacht at night?
Yes — evening cruises with the skyline lit up are the most popular slot. Swimming is daytime only, and the yacht page shows which start times are free.
Can we bring a DJ?
Ask us before you book. Whether there is space and power for DJ equipment depends on the yacht, and we'll check with the owner.
Is a yacht party good for a corporate event?
Yes, if the group fits the licensed capacity. For teams of 30–75, look at the larger yachts and catamarans; we can arrange catering and decorations for the event.
What happens if the weather is bad?
In strong wind or rough sea the coast guard can close the water, or the captain may change the route. If the trip can't go ahead, contact us and we'll help you move it to a new date.
